Rigel

Rigel is the brightest star in the constellation Orion. it is a blue supergiant star with several dimmer companions. Rigel is sometimes called Algebar or Elgebar in older astronomical sources. Rigel is the seventh brightest star in the night sky and is occasionally outshone by the second brightest star in Orion, Betelgeuse. Like other supergiant stars, Rigel will probably explode in a supernova leaving a neutron star or black hole remnant.
